In this edition of the Mayor’s Corner, Mayor Reardon announces that the Chamber has extended its Invitation Nights. The last one of four will be held downtown tomorrow night. The Newburyport Fire Department will also hold its annual Santa Parade tomorrow, Friday, December 22nd. The parade will kick-off from Fire Department Headquarters promptly at 4:00 p.m. Please see our website under News and Announcements for the exact route. The Yard Waste Facility on Colby Farm Lane will be open this Saturday from 8 AM – 2 PM due to the debris caused by Monday’s storm. The facility will be open to Newburyport residents who are looking to dispose of branches, leaves, etc. – no sticker required. Trash and recycling pick-up will be delayed one day in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Monday’s pick-up will be moved to Tuesday and each day thereafter is delayed by one day including Friday to Saturday except in the downtown area. The City of Newburyport will host a regional community information session regarding the proposed Whittier Regional Vocational School Building Project on Tuesday, January 9th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Nock Middle School. All communities are welcome. Come hear about what is being proposed and how it would impact the 11 communities that make up the Whittier School District. City Council & School Committee Inauguration will take place at City Hall in the City Council Chambers on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 7:00pm.
