The Water Treatment Plant is piloting with Cyclopure – a system that makes drinking water safe by removing Per- and Polyfluorinated Substances (PFAS). The Harbor Dredging Project began on Wednesday. Calling all artists and arts and culture organizations! Applications are open for the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program! The Newburyport Cultural Council has $8,000 in funding available for community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences. The application deadline is October 17th at 11:59pm. As of November 1st, electricity rates are increasing by 64%. National Grid is hosting a public meeting at the Senior Community Center on Wednesday, October 19th @ 1 p.m. For those who are unable to attend, NCM Hub will be recording the meeting. A fundraising dog walk for the Karen Wellington Foundation for Living with Breast Cancer, Paws for a Cause, will take place on the Clipper City Rail Trail on Saturday, October 15th. Congressman Seth Moulton will be holding a Town Hall at City Hall on Monday, October 17th at 6:00 p.m. This will be the first in-person town hall Congressman Moulton has hosted in 2 years.
