Mayor Donna Holaday grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts and fell in love with Newburyport, a North Shore historic seaport community. She has lived in Newburyport for over 30 years and is currently serving her third term as Mayor. Holaday has placed a major focus on addressing long overdue infrastructure and capital projects in the city. Her administration has generated more than $100 million in funding for the City, including two school projects, a new senior/community center, central waterfront bulkhead, roundabout, harbormaster boater facility and NHS stadium project and other field projects.
The City is currently working building an intermodal garage facility as part of a larger economic development plan for downtown. In addition, she has initiated a holistic review and revision to the City’s zoning and update to the Master Plan. Mayor Holaday has worked tirelessly to improve constituent services and creating greater efficiencies with a major upgrade in the City’s technology.
Mayor Holaday holds a Master of Science from Boston University, Master of Education from University of New Hampshire and a juris doctor from the Massachusetts School of Law.
